Motocross Madness!

Oh yeah, that's true, this is my first english post! And why? Because since this last weekend I became a proud "wanna be american"!

Last saturday we went to the At&t Park, home of the San Francisco baseball team, the Giants. And it is only 5 minutes away from our house.

We had been hearing about this event all week long and we were dying to go but the cheapest tickets were sold out. Nonetheless, on the event day we walked by the stadium just to feel the environment. And of course, we ended up buying a ticket. On the "candonga". Gonçalo and Cristina also came to what it would be a fantastic night!

Our seats were almost on the last row of the last level. Going to our seats we saw a fight between 3 big american guys and a blond girl! She was trying to kick one of the guys but her hands were half of the size of his neck! We think that that guy was only trying to separate the other two but the girl was so freaked out of her mind that she didn't understand that and continued to hit him...

After this episode we arrived "to our floor". The quantity of kiosks selling french fries with garlic, chicken wings, hamburgers, hot dogs, coca cola and lots of beer was incredible!
Our seats had an amazing view of the SF bay and of the motocross track! At 7 pm the show started! First, some recruits from the Air Force, carrying the American flag got into the stadium, and a short speech of encouragement was made by their "general". In short, he asked God's help to annihilate the ENEMY!
After that, a girl started singing the American anthem and everybody stood up, with the right hand near the heart and the left behind the back. This was the moment that I said to myself: "I love this country! Let's kill the ENEMY!" ahahahahah

The Star-Spangled Banner

Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's lasted gleaming? Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight, O 'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming. And the rockets` red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there. Oh, say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

Soon after the anthem, fireworks kick started the Motocross show. As the time went by, we were increasingly becoming more excited with this sport. In the end we were almost standing in our chairs, screaming for Ryan Vilopotto, the guy who actually won the competition!
The Monsters Trucks are coming to the city, so I hope to have another amazing american experience!
